P.L. Porter pioneered the first hydraulic seat recliners for the aviation industry in 1947. Over the years, product applications spread into the furniture, medical seating and industrial markets. In 1977, Porter entered the automotive market with infinitely adjustable mechanical seat recliners in General Motors full-size car lines. Since then, Porter has extended the application of Porter technology to over thirty different vehicle platforms with most major automotive manufacturers around the world.
